It was a big day in Mosgiel on Friday as the Balmacewen Year 8 crew hit town for the triathlon! There were plenty of nerves and excitement around as everyone prepared for their race, individual or team. After a lot of sweat and tears were shed, there were some very happy faces crossing the finish line! The course was made up of a 100m swim, 3 laps around Peter Johnstone Park and a lap of Memorial Park to finish.
It was awesome to see Room 9 people giving it their best! The training paid off and everyone did themselves proud :) A big congrats to these Room 9'ers who were placed in the top ten: Ben (3rd), Rahan (5th), Will (6th), Kalin, (8th) and Courtney (5th) and Abby (10th).
The final house points were in the same order as the swimming sports - Highgate, Chapman, Shetland, and Lynn.

Im so happy i got 11th in the triathalon [darn u Abz] and HIGHGATE WON!!!!!!!!!! YEYAH!!!!! MADDY!!! ;]
ReplyDeleteIt was sooooo much fun!But I didn't realize that the bike was on a different field so I was worried about our biker!

The triathlon was fun but I almost drowned in the swim but I made up lots of time in the bike and I am happy that I got 8th.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the triathlon and i was happy with my time and place(6th), I just lost to rahan (2 seconds) but I think we all know that there must have been a time mix up :P,
ReplyDeletethe bike was probably the hardest thing because I didn't realise how big it was... even though I did my best work there.
Overall it was a great experience and very fun.

i really enjoyed it i was so sore the next morning argh but i was sencond then i came like 15 its was so big when i got out of the pool i ran to the bike and i just put my shoes on then helmet the got oj to the bike off i go argh i was too deep at the pool and i tried to do all of them 1st then i decided to do team then invdvental go shetland not chapman argh champan has my good teacher!!

ReplyDeleteI was in a non competitive team doing the swimming section.It wasn't challenging and it was over very quickly.But I still tried to do my best for my team and Shetland House.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the triathlon, I was in non competitive and was biking. When I found out where the biking track was I was frightend because it looked so big.O nce I had finished I was really proud of myself.
I still can't belive that chapman bet SHEATLAND!!!

ReplyDeleteI thought the triatholon was great but at the same time challenging because i don't normaly ride on grass. I think that the run should be longer and also should do a duatholon for people who don't want to swim
