Well done on completing your Thinkers Key's homework assignment!! I have marked a few of them and they are great! :)
Homework this week is:
SPELLING: List 17 - usual drill, don't forget to use www.spellingcity.com if it helps you learn your words.
CROSS COUNTRY: Cross Country is next week! It has come around quickly... our class training is going superbly, I have been super impressed with everyone's efforts. Try and go for a run or two at home if you have the chance this week.
IMPACT: Look in the newspaper and magazines and see if you can find any letters to the editor regarding issues related to our Impact topic. Cut them out and bring them to school if you find some.

ReplyDeleteHey i got 9/10
ReplyDeletemy family helps the environment by washing and reusing our gladwrap it helps the environment by saving glapwrap so there is not as much rubbish in the landfill!!
I think the council needs to give us bigger recycling bins because sometimes my recycling bin overflows and the rubbish flys away polluting the earth even more!! its disgusting!!
MADZ!!!! ;]
I got 9/10. my family has a worm farm and compost.
ReplyDeletewe could improve on... stop using normal cars and buy electric ones
I got 10 out of 10! =] Courtney
ReplyDeleteMy Family Recycles most things we could improve on this because we still put one or two rubbish bags out each week. Last year we started our first vege garden. this year we plan to make it bigger and better. we might start a compost heap! I think Dunedin should use the new recycle wheelie bins because they are bigger and people will recycle more because the Blue bins are too small.
ReplyDeletei only got 4 out of 10 but then i felt bad so i did it again then i got 9 out of 10 so now i feel better and thats how cool i am!!
ReplyDeletemy family recycles nearly everything that there is to be recycled we definatly need bigger bins so im glad that they are getting bigger bins becasuse we could probs fil it up in a week and my dad is also a graffiti artist and does council stuff all around town (down by the leith, under the bridge by carisbrook on the big wall by laser force) so if he sees any one he will stop them......
ReplyDeletegood work guys... Tyler hehe how could you get only 4?! at least you got 9 the second time :)
ReplyDeleteI got 10 out of 10 .
ReplyDeleteMy Family recycles alot,we also re-use old containers such as ice cream pottles , and jars and buckets( my Dad re -uses the buckets for his work).
I think that Dunedin/our comunity needs to improve on littering.(Random dumping of rubbish around the community)
Hi it's Sarah i could not create an account because it would not let me but here is my work...
ReplyDeletei got 10/10 on the quiz, i think that our family does a great job reducing the amount of water we use because we limit our showers often handwash the dishes ect...
i think that the city could improve on their public transport and switch it all to transprot that runs on alternative fuels.
hey I got 6 out of 10, arent I cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteGot 10/10 wooohoooo, my family uses less fossil fuels by walking most places and only using the car if we have to.
ReplyDeleteI think my family does well at recycling,
ReplyDeletewe put our bins out every week and wash and squash the bottles and tins.
And Dunedin needs to improve on littering,
because theres too much rubbish just lying around on the streets etc.
Hello
ReplyDeleteI got 10 out of 10.
At my dads we only put out one rubbish bag a week and we recycle, but we need to work on our shower times!
I agree with maddy the council need to look into recycling bins with lids as they do over flow.
I got 9/10
ReplyDeletehi it's Ruben i got 9/10 in the test the one i got wrong was number nine
ReplyDeletewhat my family does well is that we grow some of our own vegetables and we do not waste water at our house and for Sophie's playhouse most of it was made out of Grandads old wood
Hi its will I got 9/10 i got the first one wrong.
ReplyDeletemy family could improve on taking shorter showers because theones we have now are waaay to long,i think w use the reccling bin well and recycle everything that can be recycled :)
Hi I got 9/10
ReplyDeleteMy family recycles plastics, tins and composts old food scraps.
People could start biking or walking to places more instead of using cars or buses.
Kalin :)
hi, i've already writen this but then i lost it some how! but my family recycles cans and bottles, we also use mizone etc bottles more than once. i think we need to work on keeping our showers short, actually just me because i have almost 15 minute showers because i get really tired and just stand there and i lose track of time, it just flys by! we also have a vegetable garden that we only water when it is needed and in summer we only water it at night so it doesn't waste water!
ReplyDeleteoh yea and i forgot, dunedin needs to pick up rubbish thats lying around and don't even put it there in the first place! there is heaps of public bins in town just put it in teh bin! its not rocket science! haha i seem to babble on a bit! haha, i agree with the westpac add on tv when it sayd to share a ride with people at the same work as you so you use less fossil fuels that are polluting our earth!
ReplyDeleteJonny
ReplyDeleteI got 8/10
What our family does to help the enviroment is recycle most items and reuse news paper after they have been read.
Something we can improve on is getting the rubbish trucks that pick up the weekly rubbish around town faster without holding up traffic
i got 8
ReplyDeletei got 8 whoooooo
ReplyDeletemy family turns off lights when we are not using them and recycle heaps
